Cinderella – 14th January, 1991

Second time that I saw Cinderella with the first being on the Long Cold Winter tour in 1989 at Edinburgh.
This was a great double bill at Newcastle City Hall with support coming from Slaughter who were hot at the time and featured a bit of an all star line-up with vocalist Mark Slaughter and bass player Dana Strum.

Slaugher – Up All Night

Cinderella were supporting their Heartbreak Station album which something of a departure from the previous blues influenced Long Cold Winter. I was reading recently that this tour was curtailed shortly after amongst much rancour because of the start of the first Gulf War which created concerns about the safety of being overseas at the time.

Shortly after vocalist Keifer experiences throat problems which delayed their next album until 1994 and due to it’s relative failure the band were dropped by the record label and have toured sporadically since then on the heritage circuit. Website here.
